Edsel came out on Sunday, good communication and texted he'd be here. When he got here, he confirmed my suspicions that it was a capacitor which is a very simple repair/installation (for lack of a better analogy, it is loosely equivalent to replacing a fuse in a car...not too hard)...and he said it would be about $200, but he may be able to discount it for me somewhat. Having suspected it was the capacitor, I had already ordered one the previous night and it was to be delivered to my house via Amazon...it cost $17. So I told him I'd wait for it to arrive and install it myself instead of paying a $180 markup on a $17 part. He said OK, but since he didn't install it and did not have a "sample" or "working' capacator...he could not check the rest of the system...so that was the end of the service call...fair enough I guess, but it would have been nice to have the rest of the system checked. So he then said the service call was $209...so I tried to remember from my original phone call with the dispatcher...and the cost should be $179...so Edsel accepted that and I paid him in cash....but kinda felt like it had been a price negotiation...which I wasn't expecting.
The following day I get an e-mail from Green Leaf with invoice for $179...but it doesn't say paid...so I call them, and the lady who answered at first asked how I'd like to pay...I said I did...and she checked and verified it...and agreed and sent me a e-mail with a "paid" invoice. She also confirmed that the capacitor part is normally priced at between $150-$180...which is still about a 10x markup (remember, you've already paid for a labor/service call), but she did say that it is covered by 1 year parts and service warranty.
Final Analysis: EXCELLENT RESPONSE TIME and Edsel did seem very qualified at his job.
COST/PRICING: Seemed to be always a negotiation that I had to be aware of...and I get that they need to make money...but up to you whether you think the parts 10x markup is excessive or not...for me, I think it was since a service call had already been paid for.
Honest, trustworthy and get the job done right!
Highly recommend 😊
While Eddie and I had a disagreement on the unit installed, Eddie went out of his way to get it resolved. I finally agreed with him.
I will use them again.
As for most folks that evaluate a company, they have their checklist for rating and ranking. So here is a quick summary on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best).
1) Cost 8.5 - very competitive cost quote, took extra time to develop/deliver several quotes & proposals. Easy to work with.
2) Quality: 9.5 - top marks for the quality of work, equipment, and technicians (Josh) + installers (Fernando & helper).
3) Dependable & Professional 10 - show up on time as scheduled, very polite, professional, skilled and knowledgeable.
4) Job installation: 10 - completed on time; very professional work.
5) Follow up by owner: 10 - very impressed that Eddie took the time to reach out and make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction.
Overall, give them a 5+ star rating and would definitely recommend them to friends & family!

The last time i had service was a couple of weeks ago and I was happy with the tech and service. They did charge $180.00 for a $14.00 part and 120.00 to replace it.
My previous review is below.
Green leaf always provides great service and guidance! Currently I am waiting for a warrantied part.
After reviewing other quotes, I decided to stick with Green Leaf. The reason was the quote was "mid-range", not too low such that the job is not done well, and not too high such that they are just going after money. As well as the professionalism demonstrated by Edzel on site. Everything was documented by taking pictures so that it could be relayed to his supervisors and get feedback on his analysis. This "double check" helps, to get things right the first time.
I like they notified me at each stage as well as with who was on route. The e-mail contains a small bio on the person arriving at your door, notified via text, and with the larger install, a call on the estimated arrival time. The install went well, and this is another place Green Leaf shinned from my previous company experience. After the previous contractor took a "brute force" approach on the air handler and cut / re-wired to get one function working, Green Leaf took the time to correctly re-wire it and get the entire unit working. This surprised me as they had only installed the condenser but went above and beyond to fix a different component (no fault of theirs) at no charge. They had my homes best interest in mind to get everything working that day. Such that the owner (Eddie) called to follow up on the job and any further concerns I may have.
I would gladly recommend them and re-hire them if needed.

A Fresh System for Clean Water
Drink Better Water, Reduce Chlorine, And Use Less Soap
Austin, like many metropolitan areas, seems to deal consistently with issues of water and air quality. Part of this, unfortunately, comes simply from living in an urban environment. While the water you receive from your local city will be clean enough to use, it won’t necessarily be free of all contaminants and pollutants. With the help of a professionally installed filtration system, though, you can make sure that your family is drinking water free from chlorine and other undesirable elements.
There are many filtration options available, and all work towards eliminating contaminants from your water. The water that you drink, bathe in, cook with, and wash with can be polluted without you even being fully aware of it. With a water filter installed on your home system, however, you won’t have to worry about any of that going forward. It’ll be clean, fresh water for all of your needs. No more guesswork, no more hidden pollutants. So if you’re looking for a home water filter system that provides high quality water directly to your taps, we can help provide you with options.
With a wide range of systems to choose from, you’ll be able to find one that works for your needs. From reverse osmosis systems to multi-stage systems, we have something for everyone. We also carry add-on options that can improve the quality of your water even further. And with our experienced technicians, you’ll be able to get the installation process underway quickly and easily. You don’t have to worry about long-term maintenance either, as our knowledgeable staff can provide you with a comprehensive maintenance plan. Determine The Best Solution For Your Home
The Water Filtration System Most Fitted For Your Need
Finding the right water filtration system for your home can seem like a daunting task. With all the different types of systems out there, how do you know which one is best for you and your family? Here are some of the key factors to consider when selecting a water filtration system for your Round Rock or North Austin area home.
Types of Water Filtration Systems
The most common types of water filtration systems are reverse osmosis, carbon block filters, and ultraviolet purifiers. Each type has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, so it’s important to weigh each option before making a final decision.
Reverse osmosis (RO) systems are highly effective at removing both contaminants and odors from drinking water. They produce clean, healthy drinking water that tastes great.
Carbon filters are ideal if you’re looking for an affordable option with minimal maintenance required. These filters capture large particles such as sediment, rust, and dirt while also removing bad odors from the water.
UV purifiers use ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and viruses that may be present in your drinking water supply. They’re very effective at eliminating microorganisms but don’t do much in terms of filtering out larger particles or contaminants like those removed by RO or carbon block filters. UV purifiers require periodic bulb replacements to ensure they remain effective over time.
Remember to consider all aspects of each type before making a final decision – cost, maintenance requirements, effectiveness at removing contaminants/odors, etc. With careful consideration and research into the different options available, you can easily find the perfect water filtration system for your needs! Alternatively, our specialists can give you an assessment and help you determine which of our offerings may be the best for you.
Why Get a Water Filtration System?
The Many Reasons To Consider Switching
Do you know what’s in your water? The answer may surprise you. Depending on your city and water provider, your home’s tap water can contain contaminants like lead, chlorine, and other chemicals. Many of these contaminants are linked to health problems like cancer and neurological disorders.
Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about the safety of your water with a water filtration system. Not only do they remove potentially harmful contaminants, but they also improve the taste, smell, and clarity of your water. If you’re concerned about the quality of your home’s water, installing a water filtration system might be the perfect solution for you.
There are several types of water filtration systems, so it’s important to research the different options before making a decision. Our team can help you better understand which type works best for you, including reverse osmosis systems, whole house water filter systems, point of entry (POE) systems, and ultraviolet disinfection systems. Each type of system offers different levels of filtration, and we’ll be sure to help you determine just which type will work best for your home
The Benefits of Having a Water Filtration System in Your Home
One of the top reasons why you should consider getting a water filtration system installed in your home is to improve the quality and safety of your drinking water. Water filtration systems remove unwanted particles and contaminants from your tap water, providing you with clean, great-tasting drinking water for you and your family. Depending on the type of filter you choose, some systems can even remove lead and other potentially harmful substances from your tap water.
Another benefit of having a water filtration system installed in your home is that it can help reduce sediment build-up in pipes and appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, and hot water heaters. Sediment build-up can decrease the efficiency of these appliances over time, leading to higher energy costs and potential repairs down the road. A good quality filter will help reduce sediment build-up by trapping impurities before they reach your pipes or appliances.
Finally, having a water filtration system installed in your home can save you money over time because it reduces the need for bottled water or other sources of filtered drinking water like stand alone water filtration systems. Not only is this more cost effective than buying bottled water every week or replacing old water filters, but it also helps reduce plastic waste from single-use plastics. Additionally, filtered water requires less soap to be effective for cleaning, meaning that you can also reduce the usage of harsh chemicals in your house and extend the life of your cleaning products.
All in all, having a good quality filter installed in your home is an important step for ensuring that both your tap drinking water and household appliances remain healthy over time. It also helps reduce plastic waste while saving you money on bottled water purchases every month! So if you live within the Round Rock or North Austin area, contact our specialists here at Green Leaf today to learn more about our professional installation services for whole house filters and reverse osmosis systems! We guarantee that our customer service team will provide knowledgeable guidance throughout every step of the process so that you get exactly what fits best with your needs!
