Oak Hill, TX is found close to southwestern Austin. The town was first known as Live Oak Springs during the 19th century. The land where the town sits today was awarded to William Cannon by the Mexican government back in 1835. Many settlers started coming to this area during the mid 1800s and the town was named again and was referred to as “Shiloh” after the Civil War battle. Eventually, it became known as Oak Hill.**
